It’s Finally Your Turn”: Watching Our Last Baby Begin Their Motocross Journey 🥹🏁
There’s something different about watching your youngest climb onto a PW50. 🥹🏁
For the last few years, we’ve watched this journey slowly build.
First came the balance bike — little feet pushing along, learning balance and confidence.
Then came the Stacyc.
And for a while, that was the biggest thing in the world… until it wasn’t. 😂
Because when you’re the youngest motocross kid, you spend a lot of time watching everyone else.
You watch the bigger kids put on their gear. You watch them start their bikes. You hear the engines. You watch them line up and take off.
And suddenly that Stacyc just isn’t fast enough anymore.
They don’t want the “little bike.”
They want to be like the other kids.
They want a helmet, boots and goggles.
They want to twist a throttle.
They want the sound.
They want the dirt.
They want to ride.
And as a motocross parent, you’re excited for that moment.
Until it actually happens.
Until your youngest baby is sitting on a PW50 with their hands on the bars and their little feet barely touching the ground.
Until you start that bike.
Until they twist the throttle…
and take off.
That’s when all the emotions hit at once.
You’re standing there with the biggest smile because you are SO unbelievably proud.
Proud of how fearless they are.
Proud of everything they learned on that balance bike.
Proud of all those Stacyc laps that taught them control and confidence.
Proud because you know they’ve been waiting for this.
But underneath that pride is this little ache in your heart.
Because this isn’t just another kid learning to ride.
This is your last baby.
You’ve experienced these firsts before.
You know what comes next.
You know that today it’s a PW50 and before you know it, they’ll be asking for the next bike.
You know those little boots won’t always look so big on them.
You know they won’t always need help getting their helmet on.
You know someday they won’t need you running next to them.
And maybe that’s what makes watching the youngest so emotional.
With your first kids, you’re learning right alongside them.
With your last, you already know how quickly it all goes.
So when that little PW50 takes off, part of you wants to cheer louder than anyone…
and another part of you wants to reach out, grab the back of that bike and hold onto this stage just a little bit longer.
But you can’t.
Because they’ve been waiting for their turn.
They’ve spent years watching everyone else.
And now…
it’s finally their turn.
Their turn to learn.
Their turn to fall and get back up.
Their turn to come around the corner looking for Mom and Dad.
Their turn to yell, “Watch me!”
Their turn to become one of the riders they’ve spent their whole little life looking up to.
So you stand there.
You cheer.
You take way too many pictures.
You probably shed a tear behind your sunglasses.
And you watch your last baby begin their own motocross story.
The balance bike taught them to balance.
The Stacyc gave them confidence.
But that little PW50?
That’s the beginning of a whole new chapter.
And as proud as you are to watch them ride into it…
there’s a tiny part of your heart wishing you could slow it all down.
Because when your last baby takes off on their first dirt bike, you realize you aren’t only watching them grow into the rider they’ve always wanted to be.
You’re also saying goodbye to another little piece of their baby years. 🥹
And that might be one of the hardest and most beautiful parts of being a motocross parent.
Go get ’em, baby. It’s finally your turn. 🏁❤️
